A stainless steel filler neck is
one of the most essential for any vehicle's fuel setup. It helps fill up &
store the fuel inside the fuel tank by functioning as a valve that sustains and
holds the fuel tank's pressure.
Here are some of the functions a stainless
steel filler neck serves -
- acts as a
valve that controls the pressure of the fuel tank.
- Seals off vapors of hydrocarbons
- Seals fuel and doesn't let fuel evaporate into
the air
- Controls emission of hydrocarbon vapors into
the atmosphere
- Restrains the pressure by discharging fuel
vapors when there is high pressure inside the tank
- takes in the air during low
pressure
Some of the filler caps available are
-
a. Vented Fuel Filler Caps: These caps are outfitted with a special breather valve that relieves both vacuum and pressure.
b. Non-vented Fuel Filler Caps: These
caps have no breathing mechanism and are used with a fuel tank, which already
joins.
c. Regulated Fuel Filler Caps: These
caps are outfitted with regulated breather valves for controlled release of
high pressure due to vapors of hydrocarbons and regulated suction of air to
sustain the pressure-specific limit.
- Easier extension of caps with the filler neck
and stainless steel
- Fine sealing tool
- High-grade material to avoid any deterioration
The stainless steel
filler neck on most advanced vehicles also includes a tube connected to
the fuel tank at one end and the filler neck at the other end, near the gas cap
opening.
